Why do I need a massage?

Stress
Stress is the number one factor in most disease today. By learning to reduce your daily stress levels you begin the healing process. Reducing stress can also increase overall energy, improve your outlook on life, and lower your risk of injury and illness. Massage is well known for its stress-reducing effects, and it can get you started on the path to a healthier life.

Pain
Pain can exist in the body on many levels, from simple muscle pain to jaw tightness or a stiff neck. As you go about your daily tasks your body forms patterns, using some muscles more than others and thereby creating an imbalance in the system. Massage relieves tight, sore muscles, eases chronic pain, and reinstates balance and harmony.

Awareness
Taking time for massage is a great way to honor yourself and take a break from the fast pace of life. The more mindful you can become in your thoughts and actions, the more you will be able to focus on healthy choices. Massage affords a wonderful opportunity to make time for yourself and slow down, heightening your awareness and allowing you to reconnect with your inner self.

More About Tim Schimick . . .

My path to healing began with my rubbing my dad’s neck and shoulders on long car trips out west when I was young. Before long I realized that I enjoyed helping out and doing for others. Years later, in Telluride, a friend introduced me to Echinacea and Goldenseal to help with my cold, instead of taking cold medicine. Within a matter of days I was feeling better and I realized that I had choices regarding my health and my body.

The whole process of taking herbs to heal began my mind to racing, wondering what else our dynamic bodies could do in the realm of healing. The result was a passion building inside of me to learn as much as I could about the human body, its ability to heal itself, and the circumstances and settings that help or hinder the process.

Since that revelation, I have received a multitude of bodywork sessions; from acupuncture to chiropractic, including various physical bodywork and energetic healing techniques, all of which have helped me to understand my body and contributed to my overall health. Once plagued with chronic low back pain and various other physical health issues, I can happily say that I have gotten stronger and healthier over the years. I am truly grateful for all of the practitioners who have helped me learn and heal along the way.

The past 15 years have brought about profound change in my life and in the way I see and interact with the world around me. I have spent much time researching the body; how it moves, how it relates to gravity and other external forces and, perhaps more importantly, how it reacts to mental and emotional factors. I also began to see a direct cause and effect relationship to what we put into our bodies and the feelings and energy levels that result.

All of this has culminated in my continuing desire and dedication to help others become free from physical discomfort, emotional and mental stress and the myriad of other circumstances that keep us from being comfortable in our bodies.

I am very excited to witness and be part of the new discoveries in science that continue to confirm the beliefs and techniques that have served alternative health practitioners for years.

I am truly dedicated to helping all who are interested find their paths to a happier and healthier life.
